Nature-society relations in a landscape perspective

Coordinator: Marie Stenseke, Professor.

Several research projects within the unit for Human Geography is focusing on the interface between the society, individuals and the environment. Within the field of geography, the Environmental research group is particularly interested inuncovering the relationship betweeh human activities and environmental problems from a landscape perspective.

Ongoing research projects from a landscape perspective concern the planning of the Swedish urban and rural landscape and include topics related to biodiversity issues, local participation, land use conflicts, children´s and adults relationship to and activities in nearby urban green space and also the relationship between outdoor recreation and nature conservation.

The research group unites the efforts of senior researchers, PhD students, and visiting researchers at the Unit for Human Geography. Professor Marie Stenseke is the coordinator of the group.
