Pre-incubation within the Master's programme in Entrepreneurship

Students at the Master’s programme in Entrepreneurship at the School of Business, Economics and Law are trained to combine and develop advanced knowledge in a systematic manner, in order to develop ideas and projects. The education programme cooperates with GU Ventures and we can through this cooperation provide the students with reality-based commercial projects, and the students can also try out their own entrepreneurial ideas. We call this pre-incubation.

The students work in entrepreneurial teams and in close contact with GU Ventures and partners. GU Ventures’ role in the education is to support and coach in a pre-incubation process. The purpose of the pre-incubation process is to verify market and customer demand of the ideas.

One course including pre-incubation is the course Assessing Entrepreneurial Ideas. Within this course the students evaluate commercial ideas by performing:

  • Patent analysis and stakeholder analysis
  • Analysis of market and technological opportunities
  • Financial analysis
  • Analysis of competitors and the market

The students also take the course Methods for Practical Entrepreneurship. In this course the students take a commercial idea and works towards creating a scalable business idea. The students focus upon:

  • Develop, make assumption on and verify the business model
  • Generating and testing new ideas about products and services in an interative and interactive process
  • Collecting and analyzing data about stakeholders, such as customers
  • Presenting the business model and possible ways forward

GU Ventures plays an important role as partner to the Master’s programme in Entrepreneurship at the School of Business, Economics and Law. GU Ventures provides a pre-incubation process including coaching and support to the students, during the two courses. After the education it is possible for the students to develop the projects further, as a part of GU Ventures’ regular incubator. GU Venture can also invest in projects and businesses
