WOMI'18 Utrecht - Workshop on Medical Innovation at Utrecht University

On December 12th-14th the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University organised the 2018 edition of the Workshop on Medical Innovation. Over the course of two days, twelve researchers from all over Europe presented and discussed their latest research projects and academic papers. Medical research and innovation topics included: the role of scientific research and publications in medical innovation; how to understand and track hidden and distributed medical innovations; changing modes to govern and regulate the benefits and risks of medical innovations; the evolution of knowledge and technology to create new markets, scientific disciplines and technological fields.

This was the sixth consecutive WOMI workshop. It showcased how the WOMI community is embracing a rich variety of scientific perspectives and methodologies to better understand and tackle contemporary challenges for innovation in medicine and the broader life-sciences field.

The 2019 edition of WOMI will take place at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa.
