Global Award winner visits Gothenburg and Handels

The 2018 winner of the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research will visit Gothenburg and Handels May 16 and 17. The winner will on May 17 give a breakfast seminar at Business Region Gothenburg and a seminar at the School of Business, Economics and Law. The name of the 2018 winner will become public on March 15.

The winner of the Global Award will receive a check of 100,000 Euros and a copy of the statue “The Hand of God” designed by Carl Milles. The prize ceremony will be held in Stockholm May 14.

Global Award winners are selected according to the same model as the Nobel Prizes, which implies that researchers in the field all around the world are free to nominate candidates. After an individual evaluation procedure, the decision about each year’s winner is taken by a committee consisting of six Swedish professors of economics and business administration. The partners behind the prize are The Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum, The Research Institute of Industrial Economics, Stockholms Köpmannaklubb and Vinnova.
